Michelle is a translation advisor for two language groups in Tanzania, the Ikizu and the Zanaki. She lived in Tanzania from 2006 to 2014, during which time she got married and welcomed her firstborn. Now her translation work is done remotely from the States, where she and her husband raise their three children.
She communicates regularly with the Tanzanian Bible translators, working with them to produce accurate, clear Scripture in the Ikizu and Zanaki languages.
Michelle’s passion for Bible translation began in college, when she went on a short-term missions trip. While on the trip, she saw a sharp contrast between the strength of a church with a Bible in the local language and the vulnerability of churches without one.
Since then, her dedication to the Lord, her delight in words and linguistics, and her conviction of the value of mother-tongue Scripture continue to make her calling to the task of Bible translation clear.
Thank you for giving to this ministry so that the Ikizu and Zanaki people may “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ” through understanding his Word.
