My missionary service began in the Republic of Congo as a Language Assessment Specialist. Our team participated in studies to evaluate how Scriptures in several languages were used, to communicate with and worship God, through music, prayer, and Bible study.
With changes in the team, I now support translation and literacy projects in Rep. Congo and the Central African Republic (CAR) through Personnel Administration. I aid colleagues in the SIL offices in CAR and Rep. Congo with budget and furlough planning; member recruiting, support, retirement; emergency information management, and training requirements. I liaise between SIL’s Francophone Africa Area Human Resources group and Wycliffe Alliance members and staff. My tasks for translators and literacy/Scripture Use specialists allow them to focus on the crucial work of bringing Scriptures to communities without the Bible. I enjoy periodic Language Assessment tasks, researching and compiling information that helps those beginning or pursuing translation projects.
Though we met in the Republic of Congo, my husband and I currently live near Cincinnati, Ohio with our children. We are grateful to our partners, who faithfully supported this ministry since 2004. We thank the Lord for a new home with Tyndale Bible Translators.
